GBAC Community Plan 2014-2020 and GBAC Strategic Plan 2020-2025
Gugu Badhun Aboriginal Corporation
#Overview
Research and engagement to support planning for increased governance and administrative capability, community development, and emerging tourism opportunities.
Following Gugu Badhun's Native Title Determination #2 in 2012, Plan C assisted Gugu Badhun Aboriginal Corporation (GBAC) in developing the first iteration of the Gugu Badhun strategic plan - Gugu Badhun People's Community Plan 2014-2020. In 2019, Gugu Badhun and Plan C reunited to develop the Gugu Badhun Aboriginal Corporation Strategic Plan - 2020-2025 along with other community, business and tourism planning projects.
These strategic and business planning activities have assisted GBAC in maximising opportunities on Country including negotiations with an Australian federal agency; land-planning over large areas of country; increased GBAC governance capacity; and the development of emerging tourism and research opportunities, while mitigating social, cultural, environmental and economic impacts. These plans become important tools in coordinating between various agencies and funding discussions.
#Key Outcomes Achieved
