Yarrabah Tourism and Events Strategy Tourism and Events Queensland

#Overview

Development of an emerging and sustainable tourism destination and events program, focused on supporting the local community and preserving the natural environment.

Plan C worked with a broad network of stakeholders and community members to identify opportunities and barriers to establishing a viable tourism industry in Yarrabah.

A key part of this study was identifying a long-term vision for the highly successful Yarrabah Culture and Music Festival (formerly the Yarrabah Band Festival) through engagement with festival stakeholders, support staff and Queensland Music Festival (QMF).

Through grassroots community and stakeholder engagement, Plan C and Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) identified a five-year plan to maximise local participation and maximise benefits from tourism across the areas of governance, employment, culture, and environment and infrastructure.
